Happy 4th of July from MilitaryByOwner Advertising!

A highlight of driving around Arlington, Virginia at this time of year is seeing houses decked with red, white, and blue bunting, American flags flying proudly on front porches, and fireworks stands dotting parking lots with enough goods to make the 4th sparkle! As you celebrate America’s birthday, perhaps with family and friends and a festive backyard BBQ, remember to give thanks for our military and their families for their continued protection and support.

Last year on the 4th, our family ventured out to the National Mall and scouted out a seat on the West Lawn of the Capitol. With a picnic blanket, umbrella, and backpack full of snacks, we arrived early and just hung out with the crowd of around 700,000 others until the National Symphony Orchestra kicked off the show. Although the warm summer sunshine does make the weather plenty toasty and the trek to the porta potties may seem like an endless journey, it is well worth the wait when the patriotic music begins and the artists showcase their musical talent. Thanks to jumbo screens and an excellent sound system, you are guaranteed to enjoy the concert no matter where you are seated.

When the sun sets, the evening breeze brings the flicker of fireflies and a sense of anticipation in the crowd for the icing on the cake--the fireworks show. Complete with cannon fire, Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” plays along with the bursts of color in the night sky. The awe-inspiring fireworks and spectacular music create a celebration unlike any other! If you happen to be in the Washington D.C, area, I highly recommend attending the “Capitol Fourth” concert. Celebrations for the 4th of July kick off the Summer season of fun! May you enjoy every bit.

Sending best wishes to you, to the military members currently serving away from their families, and the families left behind. MilitaryByOwner has great appreciation for all those who have fought for our freedom, and for those who work daily to keep our country strong.

    Happy 4th!
