Join MilitaryByOwner at AWN's Field Exercise in Florida!

Army Wife Network at Elgin/Hurlburt in Florida. MilitaryByOwner is a proud sponsor of Army Wife Network’s upcoming event for the Eglin AFB/Hurlburt Field area, Field Exercise: Battle Buddies.

    About the Event

Army Wife Network is hosting one of their popular Field Exercises events in the Eglin/Hurlburt Field area in sunny Florida in November! The event is best described as a “speed meeting, networking, and military appreciation event.”

The purpose of the Field Exercise events are to foster a greater sense of community among military spouses through informal, social networking with the hopes of those in attendance creating “...long-lasting, satisfying relationships.” AWN recognizes that military families undergo significant stress as a result of repeated PCS relocations, and that they are removed from their traditional social support structures, namely, family and friends. Recognizing this major stressor in the lives of military families, AWN works to combat the isolation that many military spouses experience by bringing them together in a daylong enrichment workshop.

The Field Exercise™ for the upcoming event, Battle Buddies, focuses primarily on the topic of creating close relationships. AWN explains that, “All our military families need are battle buddies willing to mentor and empower them for the duration of their enlistment.”

This event is brought free of charge to military families at military installations throughout the U.S. courtesy of sponsorships through organizations including MilitaryByOwner Advertising, USAA, Corvias Military Living, Operation In Touch, the Exchange, Tricare Dental Metlife Plan, and Career Step. Most recently, AWN hosted events at Fort Polk in Louisiana and Fort Riley in Kansas.

    How to Register

To register, simply go to the Army Wife Network website. You only need to register for one event, either the daytime or the nighttime event. There are 150 spaces available for each event, and once the event is full, there are 25 spots on the waitlist. You can see how many spaces are available right on the registration page.

    When You Attend!

This is a great opportunity to meet fellow military spouses in your local area. Even if you feel a little shy, remember, everyone else is there to meet new people (okay, and to be honest, they’re also attending to get some of the great schwag and giveaways from AWN sponsors), so if you can smile, thrust out your hand, and say “Hi, My name is [you should probably know this part]!” you never know what kind of friendship can grow from such a small endeavor!

While you’re there, make sure to stop by and say hello to us! We’d also love to hear if you read our blog!
